LAVA BEDS HAWAII was created for a single, simple reason... to share the beautiful experience of 'Living on the Lava' with others. LAVA BEDS HAWAII is located on the lava flow field of Kalapana very near the current lava flow activity on the Big Island of Hawaii. By car, we are located 60 minutes from the Hilo airport or a 2 hour drive from the Kona airport. This bed and breakfast is located ON the lava field of Kalapana near the most recent Lava Flow ocean entry. Imagine 'big sky' starlit nights as you witness the soft red glow of the ocean entry plume. So even if it's only for a short stay, a day or two, the experience will truly be one of a kind.
